PromoBuddy ("we", "our", or "us") operates the PromoBuddy mobile application. This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our app.
Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information:
- Account Information: Email address and name when you sign in with Google.
- Location Data: We do not collect or send your location data to our servers. Location is used solely on your device to calculate distances to nearby stores and show relevant deals. Your coordinates never leave your phone.
- Device Information: Device type, operating system, and push notification tokens for sending deal alerts.
- Usage Data: We do not track or collect data about which promotions you view, click, or save. Your browsing activity within the app stays on your device.
How We Use Your Information
- To display relevant promotions and deals (location-based filtering happens on your device only)
- To send push notifications about new deals (with your consent)
- To allow merchants to reach you with promotional offers via SMS, WhatsApp, or email (opt-in only)
- To improve and personalize the app experience
- To provide customer support
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with:
- Merchants: Anonymized redemption data so merchants can track promotion effectiveness. Your personal details are not shared without consent.
- Service Providers: Firebase (authentication, notifications), Supabase (data storage), and Google Cloud (hosting) — all under strict data processing agreements.
Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption. We use Supabase (PostgreSQL) with row-level security policies and Google Cloud infrastructure with TLS encryption in transit.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Opt out of promotional communications at any time (reply STOP to SMS, or use in-app settings)
- Disable location permissions via your device settings
- Disable push notifications via your device settings
Children's Privacy
PromoBuddy is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete such information.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
